I walked around the harbor searching for the most interesting boats and ships. It was a bright sunny spring day and surprisingly I was searching for shade to get out of the hot sun. I ended up finding this view on the harbors edge while standing under the canopy of a large sycamore tree. The sun reflecting off the water and across the ship was a fleeting moment that I raced to capture.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eArtist Bio: \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eTrijsten Leach grew up in the Santa Cruz mountains of California and gained an early love of the forests, oceans and mountains. Growing up he spent his time surfing, hiking, biking with brothers and friends, as well as playing sports. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eHe earned a BFA from Brigham Young University Hawaii, where he lived for three years studying art and the beach. After graduation Trijsten would move to central Utah where he met his wife and now currently resides with her and his four children. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eIt was seven years after graduation before Trijsten would start painting professionally. Since that time he has received numerous awards from various plein air competitions in the west, and has done numerous solo exhibitions of his work. For the past seven years he has traveled abroad with his family, painting along the way and enjoying the beauty of new places and cultures. These two horses were siblings and enjoyed a beautiful green pasture together. We hiked to see and paint these beautiful cliffs. The city was once a privateer stronghold. It's stone walls surround both the city and harbor, making it well fortified.
