Rob Adamson is a passionate painter and teacher, who for 28 years has been drawn to the landscapes and cityscapes throughout the US especially the Intermountain West. Rob also paints commissioned portraits. He earned an AAS in illustration from Salt Lake Community College in 1989, a BFA from the University of Utah in 1993 and an MFA in painting and drawing from Brigham Young University in 2007. Rob is a Professor at the Salt Lake Community College in the Visual Art Department. He teaches classes in drawing, painting, landscape painting, portrait painting and figure drawing. He serves as a faculty member for the annual Plein Air Painters of Utah Workshop in Midway Utah. He also teaches workshops for The Ohio Art Center and The Scottsdale Artists’ School. Rob is a member of the Plein Air Painters of Utah, a signature member of the Oil Painters of America and a signature member of the American Impressionist Society. His award-winning work is included in many private and public collections and has been displayed in galleries and museums throughout the US. Rob is represented by 15th Street Gallery and Southam Gallery in Salt Lake City, Utah. When Rob is not painting or teaching, he enjoys playing the drums in his family band.
