Framed Size:  14” x 16”

In a small garden tucked beneath the Wasatch Mountains, Katie tends to the quiet lives of her subjects. She paints what she knows intimately—flowers, fruit, and foliage—often harvested from her own garden.  A classically trained oil painter, she works in the slow, luminous tradition of indirect painting, building each image in delicate layers, honoring the natural progression of her subjects.

Her work carries both the intimacy of a gardener’s eye and the discipline of old-world craftsmanship. Through color, light, and form, she invites viewers into a deeper relationship with the living world. For Katie, painting is an act of presence—a dialogue between subject and medium. Each painting begins in observation, then deepens through return and reflection, becoming a record of an unfolding conversation with perception itself.

She paints with the conviction that we are not separate from the natural world but woven into its fabric. Her paintings ask us to pause, to look again—more slowly this time—and remember our kinship with all living things.
