Vintage Original Oil
by Jean-Pierre Haeberlin (1925-2014)
Framed Size: 22” x 25”
Curated from France
This charming vintage French Impressionist style landscape in oil on canvas showing trees and vegetation around a small river and a wooden bridge is signed “Haeberlin”. Jean-Pierre Haeberlin (1925-2014), French painter and watercolorist, studied at the Ecole des Arts Décoratifs in Strasbourg. He was part owner, maître-d’ and restaurant manager of the famous “Auberge de l’Ill” in Illhaeusern, near Colmar, which he opened during the 1950’s in partnership with his brother. Haeberlin painted many paintings, especially watercolors, of the Ill river and its tributaries. This painting certainly depicts one of these tributaries. Framed in a beautiful “Montparnasse” frame, this piece is in good condition with the exception of normal signs of age. The frame shows a few signs of wear. This painting will be an authentic French addition to your décor or to your collection.
From Veranda:
“Decorating with vintage items adds character, uniqueness, and history… Using vintage pieces can be a conversation starter and way to infuse your personal heritage, style, and memories into a space. Vintage items often have a quality and craftsmanship that is not often found in new items at a similar price point. Not to mention, you’re upcycling older items, which is a more sustainable way to shop—and so better for the environment!”

“To really stand out from the crowd designers suggest looking for original vintage artwork. While they might be more on the expensive side, older paintings tend to have a piece of history you won’t find in more modern paintings…”
