This piece was painted on location in Charlestown in Cornwall England. This is another of my favorite towns in Cornwall. All of the tallships that normally harbor here were gone, as the harbor itself was undergoing reconstruction. Regardless it was a beautiful view, and I enjoyed a cornish pasty while talking with a few locals that came by to see what I was painting.

Artist Bio: 

Trijsten Leach grew up in the Santa Cruz mountains of California and gained an early love of the forests, oceans and mountains. Growing up he spent his time surfing, hiking, biking with brothers and friends, as well as playing sports. 

He earned a BFA from Brigham Young University Hawaii, where he lived for three years studying art and the beach. After graduation Trijsten would move to central Utah where he met his wife and now currently resides with her and his four children. 

It was seven years after graduation before Trijsten would start painting professionally. Since that time he has received numerous awards from various plein air competitions in the west, and has done numerous solo exhibitions of his work. For the past seven years he has traveled abroad with his family, painting along the way and enjoying the beauty of new places and cultures. Most recently, he and his family spent the spring in England and France preparing for his upcoming exhibition: Across the Channel: An Artists Journey
