Artist Statement:
I have always been drawn to work that balances skill and expressive intent - it really is what I feel makes for a great painting. I see the two not as competing pursuits, but as complementary forces that strengthen one another. I want to create paintings that are thoughtfully designed, skillfully crafted, but also make you feel something deeper.
The artists I admire and the creative environment in which I grew up continue to shape my approach. I draw inspiration from the great masters - Gustav Klimt, John Singer Sargent, and Édouard Vuillard. However, growing up in a family of artists has influenced me the most. Daily exposure to creativity taught me to see the world through the language of design. One of the greatest lessons I learned from my mother was not to be afraid to fail. That has helped me tap into my emotions and intuition without the fear of judgment.
I continued my study of art by earning a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Painting and Drawing from the University of Utah, where I built a strong foundation in the principles of visual art that still influence my work today.
My greatest satisfaction comes when others connect with my work, allowing me to share my perspective and invite them to see the world through my eyes.
