Edvard Ølund-Hansen (1887–1979) was a Danish painter born in Copenhagen. He studied at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts from 1911 to 1916. Known for his portraits, interiors, and naturalistic landscapes, Ølund-Hansen spent many summers on the Danish island of Bornholm beginning in 1920, where the landscape and distinctive light influenced his brighter color palette. He exhibited extensively in Denmark throughout his long career and became especially known for his atmospheric views of the Danish countryside and Bornholm.

From Veranda:
“Decorating with vintage items adds character, uniqueness, and history that is often difficult to achieve with mass-produced items… Using vintage pieces can be a conversation starter and way to infuse your personal heritage, style, and memories into a space. Vintage items often have a quality and craftsmanship that is not often found in new items at a similar price point. Not to mention, you’re upcycling older items, which is a more sustainable way to shop—and so better for the environment!”
