Laura was raised in Holladay, Utah, spending her formative years in after-school art classes and as a student of art history. She’s built a career working in a variety of disciplines including illustration, calligraphy, graphic design, mural painting and textile design. However, oil painting is her medium of choice. As a mother of four young children, carving out time to paint allows her to slow down and be fully present in an otherwise chaotic stage of life. Her impressionistic work seeks to capture the mood of her subjects through dynamic compositions, soothing colors and whimsical brushstrokes. She enjoys traveling and painting abroad to fully immerse herself in a culture and place, and then reflect those discoveries into her work.
