This painting was based on a small plein air painting I did of the same scene while in Somerset, England. The day was mostly cloudy with the sun coming in and out. The grasses and trees were various shades of green and the grazing sheep stood out in stark contrast to the dark grass and hillsides. I painted quickly as the sheep made their way up and down the hillside getting their fill of food.
