"I paint because I have an insatiable desire to create. I have always loved painting realism and lately, started to combine that with a little abstraction in the mix.
In nature I see the more obvious three dimensional shapes and the not so obvious subdued flattened areas. By pushing the limits the latter and combining the two, the painting is more interesting, the play they have against one another.
In my compositions, I eliminate the clutter of too many objects and shapes in order to focus on what exactly I want to say.
My painting palette helps with this painting concept as well by limiting the amount of colors in the painting to keep it unified and harmonious. To the viewer the painting has focus and takes out the guesswork."
